[SOILDATA] Section

Purpose

This sections sets the initial temperature and humidity profile for the soil and the surfaces in the model.
The temperature and the humidity settings are divided into 3 layers.

00: [SOILDATA] _______________________Settings for Soil
01: Initial Temperature Upper Layer (0-20 cm) [K]=293
02: Initial Temperature Middle Layer (20-50 cm) [K]=293
03: Initial Temperature Deep Layer (below 50 cm)[K]=293
04: Relative Humidity Upper Layer (0-20 cm) =50
05: Relative Humidity Middle Layer (20-50 cm) =60
06: Relative Humidity Deep Layer (below 50 cm) =60

What do the lines mean?

01,02,03: Initial Temperature Surface/ Soil (Default: 293K all)

Start temperature for the soil and the surface for the 3 soil layers.
The deep soil temperature (-2.00 m) is kept constant during simulation.

04,05,06: Relative Soil Humidity (Default 50,60,60%)

The humidity value is calculated using the water content at field capacity value to get the start water content.
The value should not be lower than 10%, otherwise the possibility of numerical problems rise.
For sealed material, the soil humidity is automatically set to zero.

Compatibility remark - important

V4.0 now relates the relative humidity to the field capacity. Up to V3.0 it was related to the saturation value.
Please note, that Version 3.1 and newer do no longer support the old [SOIL] section which is obsolete since V2.5.
